NOTE: You MUST be familiar with Fathom as a prerequisite for this course.

Whether you're a seasoned engineer or new to transient analysis, the seminar provides valuable insights and practical techniques for improving system design, enhancing operational safety, and optimizing performance.

Led by expert instructors, this seminar covers both the theoretical foundations and practical implementation of Impulse. Attendees will learn how to create accurate models, interpret simulation results, and troubleshoot common issues that arise during transient conditions in fluid systems.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in modeling, simulating, and analyzing dynamic events such as water hammer, valve closures, pump startups within pipelines and complex fluid networks, and more.

Seminar Cost: $1,300 - (3 days / 6 hours per day)

Attendees will receive:

  • Additional training licenses
  • Custom reference materials
  • Certificate for 18 hours of training

Training Topics:

  • Understand surge communication times
  • Modeling transient cavitation
  • Model pump transients, including inertial effects
  • Modeling time & event-based transients
  • Model relief & vacuum breaker valves
  • Troubleshoot Impulse models
  • Predict unbalanced pipe forces
  • Choosing the best trade-offs between model run times
  • Model pipe sectioning round off errors
  • Understand graph & animation features
  • Size & locate surge suppression equipment

How to Bring Training Seminars to Your Facility

Do you have a larger team? We can bring our virtual or in-person seminars to your team! These training seminars provide a deeper level of instruction and interaction on piping system modeling using AFT software.

Charges to conduct a training seminar are based on the time required and number of attendees. If you are doing a combination of topics, the total seminar duration can be reduced due to commonalities among the training seminars.
